Raman Spectroscopy for Online Diagnostics on Fuel Cells

Raman Spectroscopy for Online Diagnostics on Fuel Cells

The focus on the generation of energy in germany changes. Because of decreasing amount of fossil fuels like oil or coal, the meaning of renewable energies increases. Especially wind and solar power supply a great potential for the generation of heat and electricity.

Another alternative is fuel cell technology. By conversion of energy into hydrogen by electrolysis, storage in subsurface salt caverns and recreation of the energy by fuel cells could make huge storage capacity for renewables possible.

Our group develops an in-situ measuring technique to improve performance and lifetime of fuel cells by optimizing operation parameters.
